Fringe: Final Crunch Of The Carrot For Vegan Comedy Show Tickets
Tuesday 10 March marks the very last day to see an Adelaide Fringe comedy favourite – ‘Don’t Shoot! I’m A Vegan’.
The 60 minute show is performed by Adelaide local, Breton, otherwise known by his stage name, Vegan Smythe. The solo act explores pressing questions in the most comedical way possible – where do vegans get their protein? How do you know if someone is vegan? And of course, should all vegans be shot?
“Expect irreverent riffs on fad diets, food labels, the vegan police, Greta Thunberg, mock meat, Facebook groups and people who think their dogs are their children,” Adelaide Fringe.
Vegan or not, all your questions you didn’t even know you needed answers to will be solved through the medium of chat, song and maybe even some dance.
Here’s a taste of what you can expect!
You don’t have to be vegan to enjoy this show either, Smythe says –
“It’s a rare opportunity to laugh with (or even at) a vegan. We’re often accused of being way too serious. I think humour cuts through all barriers and I’m anti-barrier.
“As a full-time professional entertainer, with no secret side hussle as an accountant or brain surgeon, I wrote the show specifically for the non-vegan audience, a.k.a ‘most people’. Hey, I gotta eat!
“So ‘no’, there is no slamming of non-vegans in particular. I slam pretty much everyone and everything (including myself) with gay abandon. If you’re the type of person who tends to be offended, you won’t be disappointed,” Smythe finishes.
In a review by The Advertiser, they state “…entertaining and hilarious with a depth of seriousness and purpose that is rare at the Fringe. A must watch..”
There’s 50-ish tickets left to Vegan Smythe’s final show on Tuesday 10 – let’s make it a sell-out!
