Event: A Gin Festival That Just Happens To Be Completely Cruelty-Free
Christmas and booze – the pair go together like Vegemite and cheese on toast; and what a better way to celebrate the duo than with Adelaide’s cruelty-free gin festival, Gincident!
What is a ‘Gincident‘, you ask? Well it’s that phenomena most of us are familiar with – an incident that happens due to the accidental consumption of too many gins…feels. But I bet you’ve never been to a gin fiesta that just happens to be completely animal product free; probably because Gincident is Australia’s first and only, fully herbivorous, alcohol-based festival – Adelaide vegans out here livin’ in 2037!
Now you might be thinking – “cool, vegan gin, what’s new?” Well we’re talkin’ the whole shabang…that’s right, ALL the food too!
Gincident founder and organiser, Lea McBride says, “I want the general public to come along and have a fun day out, where coincidentally no animals were harmed.”
If you’re not vegan, this is an opportunity to fore-mostly enjoy a day dedicated to the humble juniper berry, but also experience some fantastic new food which you may not eat in your day-to-day life. Don’t be shy, everyone is welcome!
ANYWAY, speaking of food and gink, we’ve got a list of some of the vendors you can expect to find at Gincident:

You can indulge your food and drink all while dining along side the scenic river views, with live music to your ears of course – in other words, gintertainment. After you’re finished with that, step into one of the Ginius Masterclass sessions held throughout the day.
“This event will celebrate Mother Nature’s best work; cheers to plants, cheers to botanicals and a big cheers to the juniper berry,” Lea shares.
See you there!
