One Week Left: Ice Cream That Will Make Your Heart Melt – Sassi
People of Adelaide, you have one week left to get your hot little hands on some of the finest vegan ice cream in town – Sassi Ice Cream for that matter.
The 100 percent vegan ice creamery has temporarily taken up residency at the Adelaide Central Market, and will be serving up seven delectable Middle Eastern flavours until 19 October.
“What are the flavours?” you may ask. Feast your brain-tastebuds on this divine selection of ice dreams – sage and pomegranate swirl, saffron fever, tahini twist, katayef, baklawa dream, mastic addict, and muhallabia.
Some of these words and flavours may seem a bit different to the usual, but in the best way possible – they’re definitely worth stepping out of your normal ice cream routine. Think – spices, roasted nuts and floral essences all whipped up into a soothing blend of aromatic deliciousness.
Every Sassi scoop is made from a refreshing coconut based milk, are dairy-free and gluten-free AND made with all natural ingredients and contain no hidden nasties! Now that’s some nice cream right there.
The Sassi venture comes from the talented Huda Al-Sultan – an accredited practicing dietitian, a former 2019 MasterChef contestant, mindful eating coach, passionate foodie and mum.
Huda is also the recipe developer and co-founder of Sassi Ice Cream, with whom her husband, Adam is the business partner. Huda and Adam are originally from Saudi Arabia and now live in Adelaide with their three children.
Speaking of – “We named our brand ‘Sassi’ after the nickname of our youngest and cheekiest member of the family,” Huda shares.
